Please note you must use the same email for the app that you used or will use to purchase your ticket on Eventbrite.
Please note this is not a dating app! It has been specifically designed to enhance your speed dating experience, including you matches now being automatically available 12 hours post event by simply logging in as well as keeping attendees updated with any unlikely event changes.
The Speed Dating Event
On the day of the event please arrive on time to allow for a brief period of pre-mingling as this gives participants a chance to socialise and ease any initial nerves as well as leaving ample time to ask your hosts for any support navigating the app for the first time.
Upon arrival, your friendly hosts will provide you with a complimentary welcome drink token to use at the bar and a name tag, ensuring everyone knows who you are throughout the event. Sip on your beverage, take a deep breath, and get ready for an exciting evening ahead.
As the pre-mingling period comes to an end, the speed dating event commences. The hosts will use their microphone to provide instructions on how the event will proceed. Each participant will be assigned a seat with the ladies remaining seated throughout the evening and the gentlemen rotating from one table to the next every five minutes (or eight minutes during smaller events). Gents, please follow the numbers carefully in order and after the highest number please continue onto table 1, table 2 e.t.c. This rotation system ensures that you have the opportunity to interact with as many potential suiters as possible.
The speed dating itself is a thrilling and fast-paced experience. During each five-minute interaction, participants engage in conversations, getting to know each other and determining if there is a spark of connection. It's important to make a good impression within the limited timeframe, so come prepared with interesting conversation topics and be genuinely interested in learning about your potential matches.
After each interaction, it's time to select either a thumbs up if you would like to match with a date or press a thumbs down if it's a no thanks. You should do this after each 5 minute date.
Since results/matches aren't revealed until the next day, you can fully enjoy the speed dating experience, free from the worry of facing awkward rejections or fumbling for contact details.
Mid-Event Break and Second Rotation
After a series of exciting five-minute conversations, there will be a brief halfway 15-minute break. Use this time to catch your breath, grab a snack or beverage, and reflect on the connections you've made so far. It's a great opportunity to gather your thoughts and prepare for the second half of dates.
Following the break, the speed dating resumes with another round of rotations. The gentlemen move to the next table and the process repeats itself. Remember, each conversation is a fresh opportunity to connect with someone new and potentially discover a deep and meaningful connection.
Post-Event Mingling and Results
Once the speed dating portion of the event concludes, the fun isn't over just yet. Participants are encouraged to stay and mingle further, taking advantage of the opportunity to deepen connections or strike up conversations with those they may not have had a chance to meet during the speed dating rounds.
After bidding farewell to your fellow daters, you can eagerly anticipate the results. 12 hours later, you will be able to view your matches by simply logging into the Cheeky Events Australia app. The excitement of discovering who you have matched with adds an extra thrill to the whole experience.
